Zach Goodwin is ISL’s Creative Director. Zach finds it unnatural to write in the third person but if he had to — which apparently he does — he would tell you that he’s an obsessive designer, an inventive writer, and a two-time ADDY winner. He is also prone to being blondish and over-tall. Along with the ISL Design Directors, he leads a team of 20 that includes animators, filmmakers, photographers, illustrators and, of course, designers.
As one of ISL’s first employees, Zach has shaped the creative work and the voice of agency since the beginning. For the last 7 years, Zach has lost sleep and delayed vacations in pursuit of campaigns, identities, commercials, this website, iOS apps, animations – basically anything that can be made from sweat and pixels. In the last year, he wrote and directed commercials for Dramamine, Glenfiddich, NBC Universal and HelloWallet. He can think of no happier way to live a life than to spend it with people you really like, making things that make people really happy. Whether that’s a website or a short film, he doesn’t really mind.
If he had to share one unlikely fact, he would tell you that his job is more about writing and staring into space than it is about Photoshop. Because an idea that makes art out of commerce is a shy and fickle beast – while pretty websites, especially these days, are pretty common. And if he had to sign-off with a joke he would place it right here.
