As Kroger’s Social Media Agency of Record, we wanted to make a splash for the 2014 holiday season — so we created the Holiday #CheerChallenge #Sweeps.

Our goal: Capture the spirit of the holiday season, and showcase fun stories from real customers at Kroger Family stores. To participate, fans could share a photo on Twitter or Instagram of themselves completing one of our many Cheer Challenges — seasonal selfies, home-cooked meals, holiday cookies, give a gift, build a snowman (out of … anything!) with #CheerChallenge and #Sweeps for a chance to win holiday prizes.

The results: Off-the-charts Holiday Cheer! In its first year, the campaign reached millions of festive friends on social media — including more than 3.4mm owned content impressions, a 1.9mm reach of the #CheerChallenge hashtag, 75k social media engagements, 15k new followers and hundreds of eligible user-generated photos.
