The Corporation for Public Broadcasting commissioned ISL to conduct a review of public media stations’ social media understanding and engagement. The goal of the research was to evaluate the current state of public media in the growing field of social media, identify areas of strength and challenge, and make recommendations on how to improve their presence.

Utilizing the data from the Public Media Social Engagement Matrix, the Social Engagement Analysis, the Station Survey, the Social Media Audience survey, and Innovation Labs with public media influencers, the final report provided a clear picture of social media strategies, practices, and outcomes of the public broadcasting system.

Specific deliverables include the State of Social Media Report, the Public Media Social Media Handbook, and the Social Media Benchmark Tool.
